Leeds Drama Workshop meets at the Swarthmore Education Centre, Woodhouse Square, Leeds, every Thursday evening during term time. Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome to join in the fun of the drama workshops, regardless of background or acting ability. We are a self-organising group who run sessions to cover all areas of drama where you can practise your acting and theatre skills. Our sessions include improvisation, script work, movement, mime, physical theatre, theatre games and stage craft and they also provide the opportunity for people to try their hand at directing. We see our main role as providing a drama workshop environment where members, irrespective of their experience can learn and practise their acting, performing, stage craft and drama skills. In addition as extra-curricular activities, we put on the occasional public performance that have included pantomimes, plays in a day and street theatre.
Outside of term time, we organise social events and group members are welcome to join the various events that are run throughout the year. Typical events can include meals out and theatre visits and a drama-themed weekend away. Why not come along and join us to develop your acting and drama skills and make lasting friendships along the way!
